Inspections

All our inspections are carried out to a high standard in accordance with HSG 264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide. Our diligent inspectors take great care in providing all the necessary data on materials inspected including those that do not contain asbestos. This minimises future costs for analysis and prevents delays on projects.

If you have a non-domestic property built before 1999, this inspection enables you to meet the legal Dutyholder requirements. These inspections relate only to accessible areas without causing major destruction or disturbance. Asbestos Management Inspections are designed to meet Regulation 4, which lists eight criteria’s that need to be complied with. Our inspections deal with six of these, all you need to do is implement the recommendations and monitor ACM’s every 6-12 months.

This inspection is designed to locate any hidden asbestos before altering, dismantling or disturbing and building fabric, plant equipment or historic objects. During Refurbishment and Demolition Inspections, hidden areas are carefully opened to confirm if asbestos is present and therefore reduce the risks of exposure. Regulation 5 states that: “The Employer shall not conduct any works in demolition, maintenance or any other work, which exposes or is liable to expose their employees”. This regulation also requires the employer to assume that asbestos is present unless, there is sufficient evidence to prove otherwise.

Project Design and Management

We know that with the right management skills every project can be executed safely, efficiently and on time and within budget. Our project managers complete full asbestos assessments, ensuring all considerations are correctly addressed and that the projects are designed for maximum safety.

We take responsibility for the entire project lifecycle to minimise disruption and reduce risks, applying best practice whether to minor works or full CDM controlled projects. Kadec provides a single point of contact, ensuring our clients are fully informed of the asbestos works conducted on their premises.

All laboratories we use are accredited by UKAS to ISO/IEC 17025 for air sampling and fibre counting as standard, using qualified and experienced analysts.

Asbestos Sampling and Air Monitoring

To ensure impartiality and accuracy in sampling and air monitoring, we use independent UKAS accredited laboratories for sample analysis, air monitoring and fibre counting.

Mobile laboratories can deliver both air sampling and fibre counting services in the most remote locations, with immediate results presented on site and via emailed PDF certificate.

Asbestos Sample Analysis:

Our specialists have the facilities to undertake asbestos bulk sample analysis at their UKAS accredited laboratories. Usual turnaround for sample analysis is within 24-72 hours (exclusive of bank holidays and weekends), depending on the number of samples submitted.

Our Air Monitoring Services include:

Site Clearance Certification – 4 stage testing in compliance with CAWR2006/HSG 248
Certificate of Reoccupation, further to the completion of stages 1-4
Decontamination unit clearance testing
Background sampling
Leak (enclosure check) sampling
Reassurance sampling
Personal monitoring
Compliance sampling – assessment of the suitability or respirator protection
